Frequently asked questions

Is this just for Spotify?
The tool works best with Spotify data (it's the most transparent platform for analytics), but the benchmarks and recommendations apply to your overall streaming presence across all platforms.
What counts as "good" streaming numbers?
It depends entirely on your genre, how long you've been releasing, and your marketing effort. A jazz artist with 3,000 streams is in a very different position than a pop artist with 3,000 streams. The tool adjusts benchmarks by genre so you're compared to relevant peers, not the entire platform.
Where do I find my streaming numbers?
Open Spotify for Artists (desktop or app), go to Music, select your release, and you'll see total streams, saves, and playlist adds. Monthly listeners and followers are on your dashboard homepage.
Will low numbers make me feel bad?
The tool is designed to be honest without being demoralizing. Every tier has specific wins to celebrate and clear next steps. Most indie singles never reach 1,000 streams in their first month. If you're above that, you're ahead of the majority.
How accurate are the revenue estimates?
They're based on average per-stream rates (~$0.004 for Spotify). Actual earnings vary by listener geography, subscription type, and distributor. The estimates are directional, not exact. Use them for context, not accounting.
Can I check multiple releases?
Run the tool once per release. Comparing your two most recent releases (enter the previous release's 30-day streams in the optional fields) unlocks growth trajectory analysis.
Do the recommendations actually work?
They're based on what works at your specific tier. A Spark-tier artist gets different advice than a Blaze-tier artist because different strategies work at different levels. Every recommendation includes a time estimate so you can prioritize.
